We do not ship pet puppies, so if you're not willing to pick up the puppy from us in
Klamath Falls, Oregon, I will refer you to a breeder closer to your location.

2) We will put you on our waiting list or refer you to another reputable breeder who may be able
to fulfill your needs. We do not promise puppies to anyone and must wait until the litter is born to
assess what we have.

3) We will keep you updated on the progress of the breeding, pregnancy, and whelping.

4) Puppies are evaluated by 8 weeks old to be determined as either pet or show prospects.
Waiting list homes are screened extensively (refer to "What Breeders Expect of Buyers") and if
there's a puppy for you, we require a 1/2 the purchase price
nonrefundable deposit as a
commitment that you're getting the puppy. The deposit insures we don't turn away excellent
home after excellent home for a puppy that someone doesn't take. We also reserve the right to
return any deposit at any time and not place a puppy if we become uncomfortable with the
situation.

All white and mismarked puppies are automatically pets. All male
puppies who do not have 2 fully descended testicles - a hereditary
condition called monorchidism - are automatically pets.
All our pet puppies are placed on spay/neuter
contracts and with limited AKC registration. We have
a fair contract that protects the purchaser, the
puppy, and Trail's End Boxers. All contracts are
reviewed and signed before a puppy is released to
their new home. See "Finding the Right Breeder" for
more details on what a contract will include.

Purchasing a Puppy
Show homes are always needed, so if you may be interested in
showing please contact me. You may be able to get a puppy faster if
you are willing to fulfill the obligations of owning a show puppy.
Preference and priority is given to homes that have shown and/or
titled dogs in conformation and/or performance venues before. If
you are nearby us at Trail's End and are interested in getting your
first show dog, mentorship arrangements can be made and a show
prospect puppy may be an option.

Party at our local training facility where we temperament test and structure evaluate the litter
and then caravan back to Trail's End Boxers for food and fun, before everyone heads home with
their new companions.

Before a litter is even bred or born, many reputable breeders have a waiting list for their puppies.
There are two reasons why:

1) A reputable breeder typically doesn't have many litters.

2) There are many people who would like to purchase a puppy from a reputable source.

Because of the infrequency of litters, you must be patient in your search and I encourage people to
get on a breeder's waiting list. If a puppy does not work out for you in that litter, the breeder will
refer you right away to another reputable breeder who may be able to help.

Here's how it works at Trail's End if you'd like to purchase a pet puppy:

1)
Email or call Shannon Carlson with information about yourself.
Email: trailsendboxers@fireserve.net Phone: (541) 891-2835

(We are located in Klamath Falls, Oregon which is about 5 hours from the California Bay Area or
Portland, Oregon).

Some topics to cover:

* Where are you located?

* What exactly are you looking for (sex, color, age, etc)?

* Why, out of all the breeds out there, did you decide on a boxer?

* Do you have any children? How old are they?

* Do you have any other animals? What? How old?

* Have you ever surrendered an animal to a pound or Humane Society? Explain.

* Have you ever had a litter of puppies or kittens?

* What are your living accommodations?

* How many hours a day will your puppy have company?

* Where will it be kept when you are not home?

* Is your family financially stable enough to support all the expenses of having a dog for the lifetime
of that animal? What do you do for a living?

* Would you be willing to have a home visit and/or give references?

* Are you on any other breeders' waiting lists?
