"Ellie"
My first true show dog is Ellie. She was a pleasure to watch in the ring. She finished her championship in a flurry under the expert guidance of Cheryl Cates at only 19 months old. Ellie earned two four point majors and one five point major along the way. She has an excellent pedigree, a clear heart (SAS normal 1/00 and ARVC clear with 0 VPCs 11/99 & 8/02), excellent hips (PennHip .29 right hip and .33 left hip 3/03) and has proved to be a great producer in the whelping box.
On July 7th, 2000, Ellie whelped a beautiful litter of six bitch puppies. She was bred to two time top twenty contender and multiple group winner, Am/Can Ch Glennroe Rob Roy of Telstar, SOM "Scotty". Scotty is owned by Glenn and Zona Grupe of Glennroe Boxers. One puppy is a breed champion "Abby" and is here with us at Trail's End. Ellie is retired from agility, but being a great athlete and highly intelligent, she did quite well. With very limited showing Ellie earned her AKC Open Standard title (OA) and her Open Jumpers with Weaves (OAJ) title, all with high placings. Her first NADAC (North American Dog Agility Council) trial yielded her NADAC Novice Standard title (NAC) and a leg towards her tunnelers title. She brought home 9 ribbons in one weekend.
Ellie was bred via frozen semen and surgical AI to Ch Holly Lane's Spin a Dream "Spike" and whelped another very nice litter of six on August 3rd, 2003. Spike is another top-twenty contender and multiple best in show winner. He brings a pedigree that is beautiful. We are very excited that Rogan finished his championship very quickly and has multiple agility titles and we look forward to Ollie and Smudge entering the agility and obedience rings. Ellie has her Canine Good Citizen title, or CGC, which demonstrates her good manners around strangers and other dogs. Ellie will soon be expanding her skills to the rally obedience ring. Stay tuned for more titles!
